Demzufolge ist der sicherste Computer genau der, auf dem keine Software installiert ist. Hm. Und ich bin auch immer wieder dankbar für Tips wie "schmeiss Dein Betriebssystem weg und hol Dir ein anderes". :-)

Naja, das war schon immer so. Im Zwist zwischen Sicherheitsbeauftragten und Benutzern gibt es zwei Positionen: Die Benutzer wollen keine Sicherheit, einfach rein und fertig. Die Sicherheitsbeauftragten wollen am liebsten keine User.

Von Felix recht hat: Personal Firewalls machen sich nur wichtig und suggerieren eine Sicherheit, die nicht existiert.

Das ist aus meiner Sicht nur bedingt richtig. Ich stimme Dir zu, dass PFs nicht das halten, was die Hersteller Glauben machen. Aber sie helfen doch, manche Scheunentore zu stopfen, die ansonsten himmelweit offen stehen. Und gerade unerfahrene Anwender erhalten damit ein Stückchen mehr Sicherheit. Soll man die Sachen deswegen verteufeln, weil sie keine absolute und vollständige Sicherheit liefern?

Ich suche noch den ersten Fall, wo diese Tools wirklich etwas bewirken. Von welchen Scheunentoren sprichst Du denn?

Nach meiner Erfahrung läuten diese Tools so oft Alarm, obwohl es nicht brennt, dass irgendwann alle Grundeinstellungen auf "offen" stehen, damit das Gebimmel aufhört. Es verhält sich damit ähnlich wie die ECLs bei Notes.
