Do Groove spaces ever get smaller?

by Volker Weber

Empty space. Attach one file (100 mb). Space will be 100++ mb. Delete file from space. Space does not shrink. Now fetch space from other computer. You are fetching 100++ mb. Add one more file (100 mb). You are transferring another 100++ mb. Spaces on both systems are now 200++. Delete the second file. Spaces are still 200++. Now fetch from a third. You are transferring 200++.

Does this ever get less?

Update: There is an interesting technote on this issue.

Comments

We're experiecing this serious "disk space leak" problem too.

Can you post the URL for the technote?

As most of my articles roll off the front page rather quickly, I am making an archive of previous posts available here. You can also use the handy search box at the top of the page if you are looking for something particular.
