New Groove Quick Reference Guides
by Volker Weber
Groove Networks has published two new quick reference guides:
- Project Manager Tool Quick Reference Guide
- Meetings Tool Quick Reference Guide
There is some interesting information included about the Dashboard that is only available in the professional edition. It is somewhat different from other tools:
The Dashboard tool is the most important feature of the Advanced Project Toolset because it provides aggregated information of the space. It keeps track of all meetings, action items and project tasks.
You cannot add the Dashboard tool to an existing space. There are also other limitations about deleting and adding tools, unless you want to lose their connections to the Dashboard, as you can gather from this somewhat lengthy explanation: Use the Advanced Project Toolset whenever possible to aggregate meetings and action items into one tool. Create a space with the Advanced Project Toolset whenever possible to take advantage of the aggregate functionality of the Dashboard tool. Delete any other tools you won’t use. To assign action items to people who aren’t in the space, you can add them as Groove contacts or email contacts in the Contacts tool that is already part of the Toolset, then they will appear in the drop down menu of assignees for actions and among the possible invitees for meetings. It is important to use the Contacts tool that is already part of the Advanced Project Toolset. If you delete the original Contacts tool and then later add a new Contacts tool, the new tool is not going to be connected with the Meetings and Project tools.
There is room for improvement here. :-)
