IBM überarbeitet Websphere Portal

IBM hat die Version 4.2 des Websphere Portal Server angekündigt. Überarbeitet wurden laut Hersteller das Content Publishing und die Interoperabilität. Die Integration des "IBM Content Manager" ermöglicht den Zugriff auf ein zentrales Repository, Inhalte lassen sich aber weiterhin lokal vorhalten.Verbessert wurden zudem die Portlet-Funktionen. Mit dem "Portlet-Generator" können Anwender auch ohne Programmierkenntnisse Portlets erstellen und einsetzen, verspricht IBM. Durch so genannte "Click-to-Action"-Funktionen lassen sich mehrere Portlets zu Prozessen oder Navigationspfaden kombinieren. Unterstützt werden die Systeme von Peoplesoft und Siebel, der Support für die Applikationen weiterer Hersteller soll in den nächsten Monaten folgen.
