Houston, we have a problem

by Volker Weber

As some of you have noticed, postings are becoming somewhat sparse. There is a reason behind this change:

A close family member is suffering from advanced wet AMD.

All treatments have failed to stop the progress. I have no idea yet how to resolve the issues arising now. Activity on this site may increase again when I get a grip on the situation.

Best wishes for you and your family.

Seconded; sorry to hear about this, and I wish you all well.

I certainly hope the best for you and your fanily!

Also from me - best wishes to both you and the family.

According to

http://www.luteininfo.com/german/body_what_is_amd3.shtml

it seems to be a typical american disease. Never heard of it before.

Best wishes for you and your family.

I am sending you and your family my best wishes and enought power and alot of luck to get over that problem.

My sympathies. My father and mother-in-law both had this issue... fortunately caught early on. My father received conventional treatment, eye drops and vitamins and is doing better. My mother-in-law saw a homeopathic healer who prescribed 'eye-bright', essentially an herb and vitamin cocktail, and she is much improved also. We'll certainly keep you and yours in mind with this.

Well, what can I say... Nothing more than joining in with the others. Be assured of my best wishes and my deepest sympathy.

Hey Volker,

From an article in USA Today...angiogenesis are beind used for Macular degeneration. In the "wet" form of this disease, blood vessels begin growing behind the retina. VEGF causes the blood vessels to leak, destroying vision

According to this site clinical trials are being conducted throughout the world
