WLAN security improving somewhat

Just needed a short walk around the block and decided to take Snoopy along. I know that this looks really geeky but there were not that many people on the street. In a 5 minutes walking distance I found 8 open WLANs and 20 that were configured with WEP protection. So, this is getting better. Last time I looked more than 50% were open.

wer braucht da noch telefonzellen mit wlan?
i can report opposite things. one year ago the distance home -> company - approx. 2km - was filled with about ten wlan accesspoints, 50% open. one year later i can spot 48 accesspoints - 38 wide wide open.
things like this happen when you give freebie wlan hardware to dsl customers. who will refuse a wlan enabled router if it is about the same price.
