Allow me...

by Ragnar Schierholz

... to introduce myself.

My name is Ragnar Schierholz, some people call me 'raschi'. So may you...

I went to college until 2002, took a 'Diplom' degree (for those of you who aren't familiar with the German college degrees, that's somewhat close to a Master's) in Business Computing from the University in Paderborn and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. Currently I'm working on my PhD at the Institute of Information Management at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. Subject of my research is the application of mobile technologies in customer-centric business processes (CRM in the broadest sense). Besides my studies, I worked for ONEstone IT GmbH, Lotus Professional Services and IBM Germany (in the Lotus brand).

Personally, I like music, especially if performed live on stage. And groovy it should be... Play(ed) the drums myself, even though recently I didn't find much time to do so. Also, I like cycling very much, have begun to learn inline skating as well (living on the coast of the lake constance you kind of have to).

Well, what more is there to say... I don't know, if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

hi there raschi,

nice to have you here. hope to see some interesting rants^H^H^H^H^Hentries from you :)

it will be different, because now i will have to look at the author of an article where i used to be sure that it was vowe.

maybe we will meet at the next dnug if you still attend them.

Rant? Me? Never ever... ;-)

And I must admit, I never actually attended a DNUG conference myself... Still trying, but so far there have always been other appointments/duties colliding...

Maybe next time or somewhere else :-)

so they have you the 1st price thesis award in absence?

heh :) too bad i am always working at dnug conferences. so actually i do not have that much time for chitchat beside the evening event.

Yup, that's right... I turned in my thesis at the university and then went to the US for another 9 months. From overseas I submitted my thesis, was given the award, but couldn't attend the DNUG where the award was officially announced. So my supervisor from the university went in my place...
Did receive the checque though ;-)

Welcome Rag,
but one question, what´s the reason for introducing ? Are you working together with vowe now, or you are the new admin for vowe.net ? vowe.net now runs on domino ? secrets over secrets...:-)

cheers
Ingo

No, no particular cooperation between vowe and me in place.
Just, I thought since I was awarded the honor to join the editors' club I should keep up the good habit of new editors introducing themselves so the people know who's posting... (see http://vowe.net/archives/004099.html for an example).
No secrets, no conspiracy, nothing but diving a little deeper into the community of the flying circus :-)

Congrats, Ragnar!
As long as we meet only once a year in Orlando, this is a good place to meet you virtualy...

Alexander Kluge, 2004-07-29 08:58

Hmmm, yes, Lotusphere 2005...
Still hope to be there!
