Flickred

I have a large photo gallery and I wish it were as smart as Flikr. But it isn't. Flikr is one well designed web application. The organizer lets you work on pictures in an iPhoto-like way. You can easily upload and tag pictures. You can then share pictures with the public or just with friends and family -- image by image. It has RSS and Atom feeds, you can post via mail and it lets you post to your blog in one swift move. All from the Treo, if I feel like spending a fortune for network usage.

I invited quite a few friends and some of them have started using the service. Don't forget to set an alias in your profile -- no, that is not the screen name -- so you get a nice URL. We also moved Ute's Lemmings Trail to Flickr. At least for now. In a month we will know how well it plays.

From what I saw I could really like Flickr. The only problem is that I also like to be in control. So I still prefer my own servers. But who knows what'll happen next month.

Any takers on OpenNTF to match that?
:-) stw

Vowe is my usual source of handy information (and humor :-) on the net.
Thanks for the link to flickr, very interesting indeed.

BTW: you may fix the link to the "lemming trial" as now it reads htp://ute.vowe.org.

Happy computing

Has anyone told you yet you look like picmar: http://www.picmar.com/galerie/Ingmar-wird-Vierzig!/Ingmar_aufmerksam ?! *scnr* ... Brothers in Arms?

BTW.: Ich würd Dich gern mal auf eines unserer nächsten MAC Treffen einladen (ist eh bei Dir um die Ecke) um mal ein Foto von euch beiden zusammen zu machen ;-)

Websense blockage !!! From my workplace I can read vowe.net just fine and dandy, but I am blocked by websense going to the flikr site.

Thanks Pieter, fixed that.
