Site news: We have moved

by Volker Weber

As reported two days ago, vowe.net has now moved to a faster machine. Try to post a comment to see it in action. I know from the site statistics that there are hundreds of readers coming back every single day. Often people start a conversation with: "I read your site".

Don't be afraid. Come up on the stage. That is, if you dare post your full name. :-)

Volker,

I enjoy reading your blog almost every day. Keep up the good work, and hopefully the faster engine allows even more valuable and enjoyable content to be posted.

Testing, testing... Thanks for all the "hard work" to keep the comments alive!

Joerg Richter, 2004-11-04 10:17

Damn fast, I'd say!

Joerg Richter, 2004-11-04 10:18

I read your site. ^^
It's one of my fav blogs.
Not the badest idea this preview.

Martin Hiegl, 2004-11-04 10:19

Wow, blazingly fast. Anyway, of all the blogs I visit regularly your´s one of the view I read in the browser, err, Internet Explorer, still mostly, instead of reading it in FeedDemon. This maybe also though since the URL is that easy to remember. :-)

The security code comes up fast.

I am also curios, to check it in action.

In the end, as also the illustrious Professor Stephen Hawcking says, it's "curiosity" the driving force behind most of us..

Good luck to your new Machine! :-) Keep up your great work!

"Welcome to the Machine...."

Jörg, I use the same machine for maintenance that you use for commenting. If it is slow for you, it is also slow for me. So, I am fixing your problem while I am fixing mine. ;-)

I read your site. And I am not afraid. Just testing.

guess its lightning fast.

glad you retired the old 486 from his webserver job ;)

I also read your site. ;) It's one of my favorite places in the net. Keep at it!

Sorry, Volker. No pun intended. It absolutely positively works fast. I hereby promise to make my useless comments unambiguously in the future.

Joerg Richter, 2004-11-04 14:12

I read your site. It seems faster now. That makes me happy.

Not here every day ... but often enough.

Wolfgang Hilpert, 2004-11-04 16:22

I read your site. But you knew that already. Keep up the good work.

Rob, I know that. We are only testing the comment system and I thought I should open a thread where nobody has a hard time commenting. :-)

Wow, that _is_ fast. Keep up the good work - yours is the only blog I visit every day!

I'd like to post a *really* long text to test the performance, but I'm afraid I could get kicked off... ;-)

-Mo.

I read your site! Just testing

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease Volker, tell us the whole story. What were the specs of the old machine, and what do you have now?

Ole Saalmann, 2004-11-04 22:54

No idea. I do software; hardware is handled by the hosting company. "We think you need to move to a faster server". - "OK." :-)

Shall I remember this for you?
