Firefox 1.0 released

by Ragnar Schierholz

The Mozilla foundation has announced the release of the 1.0 version of the browser-only package Firefox. It's available in multiple languages already and can be downloaded at their download site (which seems to be awefully busy) or directly from their FTP server.

A Google for “mozilla mirror” can also help: that’s how I got the latest download.

And, yes, the Mac OS X version finally lost the annoying small extra window in Exposé! :-D

I have given it a shot as well. It's nice to be able to share the same browser among different machines, in particular the Ubuntulinux box.
Seems stable so far though, extremely slow on my G3, but I suppose that, at this early stage, it's still caching a lot of necessary information.

BTW how about my old Safary bookmarks? how to import them?

Just in case somebody is still looking for a solution on how to export Safari bookmarks into Firefox, here is one that I found. It needs a few clicks but works well.
BTW this 1.0 seems quite stable and works really very well.

Whoops, something went wrong while posting :-)
The right link is this one. Sorry, my bad.
