Google Talk now talks to other Jabber servers

I flipped the switch to connect the Google Talk Service to the public XMPP network this morning. Google Talk users can now chat with users on other XMPP services and vice versa.

v.good! The inexorable march of progress. Now has anyone managed to hook their corporate sametime server into XMPP so that I can IM google talk users from sametime?
Is XMPP on IBM's radar by now? Ever since Lotus acquired Ubique and Databeam I have asked about Jabber interoperability. They only seemed to be interested in the fact that Jabber.com does not really have any market share ...
I’ve heard mutterings about “additional gateway” support in future IM applications from IBM (whether that’s Sametime, Workplace messaging, or something else, I don’t know). I would have thought that if such a thing came to pass XMPP would be a sure-fire contender...
