vowe.net is speeding up
by Volker Weber
If your reading habits were to check vowe.net once a day, you are now missing out. Since Cem has joined vowe's magic flying circus as an author, the frequency and quality has improved quite a bit. As has the readership. We used to see around 200 concurrent visitors peak, but this has now moved up to 250.
I'd suggest you check the site twice a day or subscribe to the RSS feed with an update frequency of once every two hours. And thank you for coming back. You have to have readers when you write.

OTOH, aren't logs getting less useful for estimating readership? E.g. 375 people subscribe to you via Bloglines. That number could change to 3,750 or 375,000 and your usage count would not change.
I think that is a good problem to have. :-)
Lee, when using FeedBurner it tells you for how many subscribers Blogines et. al. pulled your feed.
Volker, I have migrated all my feeds to FeedBurner and it rocks. It takes four steps:
Create exact copies of your index templates generating your feeds, just rename the output file. For instance, I copied index.xml to new-index.xml. Rebuild.
Then setup this feed in Feedburner - use BrowserFriendly and FeedFlare if you wish, and definitely use SmartFeed.
Now add a Redirect/RedirectPermanent statement to your .htaccess:
Redirect /index.xml http://feeds.feedburner.com/YOUR-FEED-HERE
Now delete the old index template and index.xml.
Actually I like to keep the feeds to myself instead of handing them over to a service provider.
To each his own ;) I started to like FeedBurner a lot. Maybe just give it a try and see how it works?
Anyway, keep posting! :)
Volker, why don't you expand the number from now 10 full shown postings to 12 or even 15?
[BTW, thanks for the fish ... ;)]
Congratulations, Volker - and kudos to Cem who has a lot of interesting things to tell. Good to see that he shares that with us contributing to your site.
Cem, we have 10+25 postings on the front page. :-)
Inviting Cem has been a smart move indeed :-)
This is a fitting post for a question I have had for a while now:
Why is there only a feed with excerpts and not with full posts?
Haiko, admit it! You're all tired of this Lotusthing & Notesstuff ... ;) - Better I duck and get cover now ...
Damn, now the truth is out... Cem, is this your way to thank me for praising that you've joined this blog? ;-))
