Internet Explorer has encountered a problem
by Volker Weber
Internet Explorer 7 has encountered a problem, according to ieCapture. In all fairness, it looks like IE7 renders the page just fine, and the problem is most likely in the ieCapture site.

If I enter my home it comes up with the same error and a blank page with the correct tab title in the main window. But then I also get a blank page with "loading" in the tab title for vowe.net. Our institute's homepage comes up nicely but with the error as well.
Maybe the tool isn't that reliable?
No "Alert box" here. At least not while using a "fresh installed XP" (Tautologie!) running the latest german beta of IE7.
But a lot of other problems: IE7 seems not to know 'conditional comments', therefore it is ignoring the appr. styleheet at qxm.de. Using the wrong stylesheet (for "good browsers") is showing that MS is simply not able to read a (CSS) specification... IE7 may not need 'box model hacking' but he fails in many other ways.
Did you know that IE7 is using ActiveX for showing PNGs??? Or am I wrong?
Martin, I guess you can be pretty sure that M$ is able to read the CSS (and other) specification very well. And they are most likely very well able to understand what they are reading just fine, too. It's simply that they didn't want to implement their software 100% standards compliant.
Ragnar, the empty page may come up because www.vowe.net is redirected to vowe.net.
Ragnar, you're right. MS' intention may not reflect their capabilities. Now I finally know, why APS.NET generated "sort-of-HTML" output is so far away from what I consider as 'semantic'. Someone out there to punish them? :-)
Volker: Do you have a source which indicates that this behavior should occur with redirects? Our institutes homepage is redirected as well, my own works with a frame instead of a redirect.
Redirection, if done properly, is not a problem. A frame on the other hand is a bad idea.
I was just trying to guess why ieCapture fails.
