The big letdown

Steve Jobs Impersonator

I am with Leander Kahney on this one:

Steve Jobs' keynote speech on Monday was the most uninspiring he's given in recent memory. It hints at the trouble Apple will be in marketing-wise if he ever steps down.

It's a shame there was no "one more thing" for sure.

On one hand I can understand the reticence re showing many of the new features in Leopard at this early stage, but on the other hand, the cynic might think that Apple aren't in a position to know what the actual shipping features will be.

OK, so maybe Jobs wants to share the real excitement for the consumer show, and he genuinely doesn't want MS to get wind of what they're up to. But hey, it's not like MS will actually bring Vista out with all the tricks before Leopard, now is it? :o)

I just watched the first ~20 Minutes because the Akamai servers closed their connection to the korean subnet. At least the keynote stream servers werent available for hours. But i had the strong feeling, that Jobs just wasnt healthy enough to give a great keynote. Look at his arms - so skinny and his face looked like so old. Maybe his cancer is coming back or he simply had a bad week. (It looked more like two or three bad months)
