DIY Nokia updates

by Volker Weber

Finally, you can update your Nokia phone without going into a service center. There are only a select few models supported to far. Get started here >

Shame you can't update it to use a USB charger.

It's becoming a new trend: Update your hardware by downloading new firmware over the Internet.

I wonder why the models supported so far are limited to such a small group. Maybe they're trying to limit the deluge of calls to support/service centres as a result of botched upgrades :)

I have been wondering about this myself. These are phones which (a) have an update available and (b) can be updated without special hardware. I wonder what other criteria Nokia has used.

Also niemals ohne Backup updaten!!!
