After the update, my old iMac G4/700 has turned back into a surprisingly "zippy" machine.
Such is the power of "Update Prebinding".. :-)
was für ein Unterschied:
auf meinem G4 Cube ist der Update (PPC) von 10.4.7 auf 10.4.8 22,3 MB groß und auf meinem neuen iMac 24 (Intel) 211 MB, also 10x so groß !!!
In der Intel Version ist wohl eine neue Version von Rosetta drin. Das erklärt den grossen UNterschied in der Dateigrösse.
Glück für mich, denn letzte Woche hat sich Rosetta so bei mir zerschossen, dass ich keine PPC Anwendungen mehr ausführen konnte. Nach dem Update geht´s wieder.

Außerdem ist der intel-Code immer einen Tick größer. :-)
