Six hours, not instant

by Volker Weber

There seems to be a problem with BlackBerry Internet Service and Google Mail. I am receiving mail every six hours only. 3:33 and 9:33 today. In 43 minutes there should be another batch.

Update: Back to normal. It's really interesting to see how dull the Pearl is if it does not have instant email. ;-)

Mine's working fine over here with Cingular...

Interesting. T-Mobile and Gmail are managing to update my new Pearl faster than the web Gmail auto-refresh or Google Notifier do. I've been stunned by how quick the delivery is. Every 6 hours must give you quite a list of unread messages to wade through...

Yes, the performance is outstanding. Until this morning. I have been following some other sources, and there seems to be a major outage between Google and RIM.

Yeah, this is against a GMail account on my BIS. It was working fine for me earlier today, but not now. Over at BBCool, they are saying that it's more of a GMail issue. One commenter stated:

"I take that back. It was working fine, but there appears to be a general gmail outage at the moment, not just on BlackBerrys."

Then he said 3 minutes later that "Now gmail is working again, with new chat features on the PC version."

I just went to GMail in Firefox and none of my contacts are showing up as being online - but they are on in GTalk client.

Well, mine's working pretty much instantly now...

Same here. Looks like they fixed the bug. But it will take two to three hours until everybody is back. Says RIM.

Shall I remember this for you?
