AOL now shows the proper Sametime icon instead of the Microsoft Office icon for those who use the Sametime Gateway.

Embarassment is the silly term for it. The Gateway is fast becoming a point of interest on my site for people looking for information on it
I am not suggesting you should be embarrassed. To me it looks like a lack of testing between IBM and AOL. And it's a very clear sign that Sametime was not the first server to connect to the public IM networks.
This was actually a mis-configuration on AOL's side specific to Connectria, which is why it did not turn up in the testing that was done between IBM and AOL.
So how does that process work? Is there a person at AOL which assigns icons?
