Incoming wave of widgets

by Volker Weber

Apple has published the first Dashcode beta. Brace yourself for an incoming wave of cheesy widgets. It's gotten to easy to build one. :-)

Now if Steve would only allow us to run them on the desktop....

Lotusphere 2007 cheese.

Widget here.

Volker, actually we will see tons of template clones. :-)

Hi Bruce;
You can run the widgets on the desktop - if you enter the dashboard and "hold" the widget of your choice with the mouse while you hit F12 to exit dashboard again - the widget will move to the desktop.

Merry Christmas everybody;
Markus

Markus, that doesn't work for me... :-( But would be a very cool trick!

Edit: Works if the dev mode in dashboard is activated. Type in Terminal

defaults write com.apple.dashboard devmode YES

(or use Onyx)

@Martin,

Lots of V1.0 widgets :-) V2.0 under development.

@Markus/Moritz,

Excellent, it works - thank you.

Markus, coolest trick. Thanks a million, you made my christmas day.

@Armin;

You're very welcome :-)

and thanks to Moritz for the reminder of activating the dev mode as I had forgotten about this.

@Martin,

Thanks for the inspiration.

Shall I remember this for you?
