Windows Vista Upgrade Decision Flowchart

by Volker Weber

This is both pretty funny, and also contains some sound advice:

With the launch of Windows Vista, many people are wondering if they should upgrade their computers to the new operating system. Here at BBspot we're dedicated to offering sound technical advice to businesses and home users, so we've created the Windows Vista Upgrade Decision Flowchart. Use this chart to help you decide if an upgrade is right for you.

Sheesh. Wish I'd seen this before I tried:

and failed:

Verdict: I wish I hadnt wasted my time.

Verdict #2: The diagram is absolutely correct.

Advice: If you want to - go for it, but install ALONGSIDE a working operating system. Such as XP, or if your really smart, have a MacBook alongside the windows machine.

These links work so much better, if one can click them:

Well, technically, you could click on what Bill had posted as well, but because it didn't contain links, nothing would happen :-)

The good thing about Vista is being able to listen while the intruders are taking over your system :-)

Ouch - Volker - I kinda assumed that anything quite as dangerous as HTML in a comment would get me banned again.. :-)

Vokler:

Love the flowchart - hysterical! I'll stick with my OS/2 1.3, Commodore 64, and PDP-11 before going Vista!

@Bill
Followed your blog and upgrade info - saved me alot of time in figuring out that it was not worth it at this time (for me, anyway).
