Nokia 770 Internet Tablet for $140
by Volker Weber

The tablet runs on Linux and has a 800x480 touch screen with stylus. Software includes RSS Reader, mail client, Opera browser with Flash player. It plays AAC, MP3, RA (Real Audio), WAV and WMA audio as well as 3GP, AVI, H.263, MPEG-1, MPEG-4, RV (Real Video) video.
Pretty neat toy at $140. It currently sells for 270 Eur ($360) in Germany, and has been superseded by the Nokia 800 selling for 350 Eur.

Do they ship internationally?
No, they don't. But you might find http://www.myus.com/ usefull, they act as an US-Proxy and reship everything to you.
Ah that sounds fine. Unfortunatly this device only accepts up to 1GB of ram, not so cool if you want to watch some movies while on the road.
@Malte: Nice tip, thanks. (dogeard). But for just one package to Germany they would charge something like 80$ (35$ Serup, 15$ fee for one month, 18,85$ for actual shipping, 8$ for commercial tax invoice for customs) its still a deal.
The 770 is a great device. I used to own one and replaced it with the N800.
Sascha, the 770 and the N800 both require to transcode a video. So you have to live with reduced video quality (which is still good enough for this screen and the usage scenario!) but you can easily carry two full-length movies with you on one memory card.
The main disappointment with the 770 is that Nokia didn't continue official firmware development for it when the N800 replaced it. There is an unofficial Nokia project, the Hacker's Edition of the N800 firmware modified for the 770, but many users (including myself) expected Nokia to continue official development for both devices.
Oh, before people expect too much: Yes, there is a flash plugin on the 770 and the N800, but both currently aren't able to play Youtube video at acceptable speed. This may change for the N800 with later firmware updates, though.
Expansys have the 770 at the moment at 74 GBP on .co.uk or 147 € on .de (plus delivery)
