How big corporations are run like China
by Volker Weber
There are striking similarities:
- There is a strong firewall around it.
- Information that goes in and out is tightly controlled.
- Also, there are strict controls who can see what.
- Dissent might hurt your career.
- Leaders should not be questioned.
- Leadership determines what is inappropriate information.
- Looking at inappropriate material can get you in trouble.
- Publishing inappropriate material may deprive you of all your rights.
This list is probably incomplete.

10. Workers are expendable.
Wow! I sure am glad IBM (where I work) isn't like that!
C'mon, we all know who you are talking about. No need to be shy now.
Kieren, I worked for quite a few big corporations. The one you seem to "know" is not amongst them. But if you recognize patters from Dilbert, your company may be run like China. :-)
11. They rely on a system of central planning and 5-year-plans that might not be touched, regardless of the facts and will always be overfulfilled, no matter what.
