Pay in Pound, cancel and ask for return in Euro.
Well, this is an obvious mistake, but I always get ticked off in the UK when the merchant suggests to charge my Visa Card in Euro rather than GBP...happened once and cost me about 15 % extra. Then try to explain that to your friendly expense management team...
Still happens from time to time in the UK...I am wondering whether the merchant and the credit card company share the return?
(BTW, this never happpened in the US, AUS or Asia, just the UK...)
I have a feeling that's going to be the exchange rate for the US Dollar by the time I get to London next month!
