Sametime 8 server needs fixing

That was close. IBM almost posted the fix before shipping the product.
Stability issues exist on the Sametime 8.0 server. Fixes are now available on Fix Central to address these issues. Before deploying Sametime 8.0, IBM strongly recommends that the appropriate fix be applied to the server:

actually the release notes of sametime 8.0 say that a fix is available for using sametime client 8.0 with quickr. So, this fix was available before sametime 8.0 was shipped. ;-)

We just updated the technote with a more accurate description of what is being addressed with this hotfix.
Both issues actually deal with limited exception cases, rather than general "server stability issues." We did carefully consider whether or not to hold the release to address these issues, but determined that they were such limited cases that it would not be in our customers' best interest to hold up the release to incorporate these fixes.
