ImageWell 3.5: Fast & Easy Image Editing
by Volker Weber

XtraLean writes:
We've been very happy to be able to offer ImageWell for free for the past several years. In the past, there were two flavors of ImageWell - a free version packed full of useful features, and an upgrade called the 'Xtras' which added even more features such as batch processing, templates, and more.
As a small two-person company, we are unable to continue developing ImageWell as a free product.Starting with Version 3.5, there is only one version of ImageWell. The free version is no longer available and has been discontinued. Version 3.5 is a low cost paid version which offers all the features from the former Xtras & Free versions combined into one product for only $19.95.
There is also an introductory offer:
You can purchase ImageWell V3.5 for only $9.95 until April 10, 2008. Please also feel free to pass this discount offer along to a friend or family. The details are as follows:
Special Price: $9.95 (regular price is $19.95)

This is money well spent. I use ImageWell to quickly resize graphics and upload them to vowe.net.

Any recommendations for Windows? (Oops, I almost bought it).
LOL. Yeah, either this or that.
I just bought it. Thanks for the discount code.
With that, are you trying to say that you'll help me get this? (hey, you've done it before *hint* - and I have a wife and three kids, too)
Or are you just trying to tell me I have to cope with that if I don't have this?
No.
Picturesque could be an alternative to ImageWell, but it actually seems that Imagewell can actually do a lot more that Picturesque can, plus it is still cheaper than Picturesque. And I really like that you can drag'n'drop pics out of ImageWell onto the desktop (no need to do a "save as"). Seems as if I might have to change...
I use the free and very powerful Irfanview (www.irfanview.com) for my simple image editing. The resize feature is great too.
No? After you pointed me to that you let me down? The lyrics say the exact opposite! (Lyrics? What lyrics?) - are you sure that that was the right link after all?
... starting the day with that song kind of spoils the day *flashback* - I wonder whether ImageWell could at least make him a little prettier - certainly, this could help, too.
And sorry for wandering from the subject of ImageWell, but you started it :)
Ok, sorry, I guess I get it now - you got me so confused, it took me a while to get this ... *lol* I absolutely wasn't familiar with being rick roll'd at all - I'll stop now.
Another great tool for fast and easy image work and distribution is skitch.
They even offer a Webservice to store your pictures but you can upload to flickr, WebDAV, scp or ftp Accounts.
Mac only, currently in public beta, (currently) free, great fun. Highly recommended!
Don't know about MACs but free image editing programs which I can recommend on Windows are:
FireShot - awesome little tool for taking screenshots and editing them. It is a Firefox extension and works only on web pages.
Paint.NET - Free small program. A great replacement for MS Paint
I prefer GraphicConverter. Works well, is cheap and (support your local industry) coded in lower saxony.
Thanks for posting this, I just bought it, too. Versatile, small, powerful.
got it a minute after vowe pointed me to it. Thanks again Volker.
