T minus 15 days

by Volker Weber

Looking through my roundup of the Lotusphere 2008 opening session for stuff promised to be shipping in 2008 that has not shipped yet. In order of appearance:

Still 15 days to go, but I would be surprised. Next dog & pony show is in a month or so. I will keep this as a reality check in the back of my mind.

The lotus script class browser will not be in 8.5. (Haven't seen it in the beta 2 either). But this was made public a long time ago.
8.5 should come before Christmas ... there is still hope.

Would you like to place a bet?

Volker Weber, 2008-12-16 09:38

Christian, read this before placing your bet ;-)

Should be here soon enough though..

Hans Bornich, 2008-12-16 10:04

Looking at the stuff that has been shipped I think there is no need to hurry.
By the way I would not bet with Volker about IBM.

Henning Heinz, 2008-12-16 12:59

I take it you mean "against". :-)

Volker Weber, 2008-12-16 13:06

Ok, I bet, the class browser will not be in Domino Designer 8.5.
A beer? Ok?

Christian Tillmanns, 2008-12-16 14:16

... since you don't know where I live I am pretty safe ... nghghghg

Christian Tillmanns, 2008-12-16 14:17

Ok, you got me. Of course I meant against. The class browser afaik is in 8.5. It is just not usable yet and so hidden within Designer. I don't have a link but I remember that someone wrote about a workaround to see it in action.

Henning Heinz, 2008-12-16 18:12

In that case I bet it is officialy not in 8.5.

Christian Tillmanns, 2008-12-16 19:14

BlueHouse is not an important feature for us(My Company).

But we really need IBM to get 8.5 for the Mac working perfectly and to bring out a Quicker client not just the web thing. Please make my Christmas!

Lee Thomas, 2008-12-17 09:23

IBM always gives itself a little wiggle room. Some features may ship by December 45th...
