Faster dialing with Google Voice on Android and Blackberry devices
by Volker Weber
Today we are launching an enhancement to the Google Voice mobile app on Android and Blackberry phones, which makes placing calls much faster. We call this feature “direct access numbers.” Here’s how it works:
I wish they would get faster to Germany.

Will it ever come to Germany, though?
From what I gathered when I read about Google Voice and it's chances to ever making it to Germany, forwarding costs for calls and services are way too high over here to make it a viable option at this point. Ans the german telcos and mobile providers will be up in arms and fight it tooth and nail unless they can stake out their claims as well, turning Google Voice into another premium service with additional fees, which kind of contradicts it's (current) purpose.
