Looking for a cheap Android 2.2 Froyo handset?

Last week at IFA in Berlin, Huawei launched the new Ideos smartphone. I played with it just for a little while. From what I understand it won't cost half as much as an HTC. I am going to reserve judgement until I get a chance to really play with it, but this looks rather compelling. Huawei has developed the handset with Google, so it will come with the standard Google experience, much like the Nexus One.
And yes, you can have a black battery cover. ;-)

Interesting. What do the red and green buttons below the screen do (I assume they are buttons)?
Armin, they may actually accept or reject a call... you know, this thing is supposed to be able to make phone calls as well still ;-)
Obviously, there's a black back cover available. If the left-most phone would have any other color than black, it would have also been turned with the back to us. Only a black cover makes the front more interesting than the back. :-)
From the spec it looks good, short of the rather low screen resolution.

Samsung Galaxy 3 i5800 costs 200€, currently powering 2.1 - but it will get 2.2. Apart from kinda slow resolution it has everything you need. Even a 1500mAh battery.
The price for this baby should be interesting. It was announced as the smartphone everybody can afford. If they come up with a price around 125€ or so and it has sufficient horsepower, I can see them selling tons of these.
Ragnar, yeah, makes sense. Kind of. Apart from that the interface would be rather different than on the Nexus One in that case. And/or it would replicate buttons most likely available on the screen already, which seems a bit pointless.
