iOS 4.1 became available. I suggest you update your iPhone ASAP. For me it has solved all iPhone 3G issues I was experiencing. Tons of bugfixes, but also a few new features for 3GS and 4. One is HDR (high dynamic range) photography. If you switch that on, the phone takes three quick photos, one of them under- the other overexposed. It then stores the normal exposure plus a second HDR photo that combines the input from all three exposures - right on the phone. There is also a new Game Center, that's not useful to me, but certainly to gamers.

How does HDR on the iPhone 4 work with (slowly) moving objects? Since it's only an iPhone4 feature, I tested the Pro HDR app on the 3GS. The result look quite good, but taking the photos is too slow if anything is moving in the scene. In that case, you see "ghosts" in the photo.

HDR is iPhone 4 only? I thought it was 3GS as well. Well, it does take three frames, so HDR is only good for dead objects. Or resting ones. :-)

Every time I update my iPhone 3GS mail stops working and I need to remove and reinstall the Exchange Profile - annoying.

You mean your Traveler setup? Well, that looks more like an IBM than an Apple issue. I don't have to remove and install any profiles.

I have had problems with that also.
I've found that editing the account settings helps... remove & re-enter the password, and it will verify the account, and all should be well.
