BlackBerry Statement

by Volker Weber

WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 6, 2013) - BlackBerry® (NASDAQ:BBRY)(TSX:BB) today issued the following statement:

"In Canada, yesterday was the best day ever for the first day of a launch of a new BlackBerry smartphone. In fact, it was more than 50% better than any other launch day in our history in Canada," said Thorsten Heins, President & CEO of BlackBerry. "In the UK, we have seen close to three times our best performance ever for the first week of sales for a BlackBerry smartphone."

While I see that people really like the new Z10, I'd rather see some real numbers.

Hasn't it also been more than three times longer a release schedule? When was the last major BlackBerry device issued?

Last week.

Next week I will see if it is really (still) available in UK shops...

I hope it is not too late for BB. I was working with a partner at PWC who uses a BB still. Here email address is s***.m.s***@us.pwc.com . She has to type the "." 4 times plus the "@" sign. Each time she needed to hit the Alt key. A company that makes email devices and makes the "." and the "@" sign on Alt keys is NOT thinking about user experience.

Maybe the BB10 fixes things for BB?
