SONOS SUB in matte black
by Volker Weber
Sonos has decided to not make the matte black SUB. Demand for the shiny black version is high enough that they do not need to make it available at a lower price point. However, they have a very small batch of matte black SUB that are on sale now. You can only order it through their website. And you have to do it now. Like "5 minutes ago now". Until April 2, or "while supplies last". Whichever comes first. And I am pretty sure, supplies will not last but a few hours.

Why would you want one? It's cheaper. 599 instead of 699 (EUR incl., $ excl. tax). And you will have a limited edition device. Very few people will own one. What does it look like? I have no idea.
Update: All gone.

Damn it! :-)
Having seen both in the flesh, I'd personal take the matte version over the gloss even if they were the same price. You can safely treat this as a discounted SUB, you won't be disappointed with the finish.
In the unlikely event you didn't like it, after the 45-day return period, eBay buyers will welcome such a listing and I'm confident you'd at least get your money back.
Seems to still be available in UK
After a double check, seems you need an invitation code to be able to view the matte version in the store.
The matte version is sold out, I suppose. I got an invitation mail yesterday and was able to choose the finish. The choice is gone.
I could see the matte version yesterday evening just by entering the shop.
But I could not buy one, because sonos could not verify my Mastercard. Later I tried the one from my girlfriend, but it was not verified either. So I think it has not been something with my card, but with the shop ...
Today in the morning, it was sold out. :(
