With Google having kicked Jabber federation out of the window the Lync-Skype bridge looks like the most attractive combination to make enterprise chat transparent accessible to customers and partners.
I'm curious what the competition has up their sleeves. Personally I find Skype's peer/mesh network architecture quite fascinating.
