The Sonos Addiction
by Volker Weber
My home is legitimately more pleasant than it was before Sonos. And I'm not the only one who notices.
This past weekend I had a friend in town who, after experiencing how simple and amazing my speaker setup was, asked me to send him links about how to get started with Sonos. He isn't the first person who’s been to my home and left wanting to buy a system of his own.
Same thing here. Our home has become a Sonos showroom that sells.

Same thing here :-)
Same here. LOVE Sonos!
Yes it's a great addiction and I'm quite happy passing it on to friends.
Still waiting for a Windows Phone App...
Me too. But i know it's coming. Use Phonos while you wait.
Volker, over the many years you gave me a lot of great recommendations and tips. But Sonos was by far the best of all. Thanks!
Thank you very much! Just ordered a Lumia 1020 and now waiting for the Windows Phone App. :-)
I recently moved into a new home and hoped to switch to Sonos (after reading your recommendations) But I currently still have the problem using 4 HDMI devices via my TV.
My current setup is an 5.1 AV-Receiver. With following devices connected:
- DVB-S/C Twin Tuner
- Raspberry Pi with Plex-Client for files on my NAS
- AppleTV (mainly to stream audio/Video via Airplay)
- PS3 as Blueray player (only bought two games which I haven't played yet)
Sonos is sounds like the best solution for Audio, but what should I do with all my Video equipment? Shall I just buy a new TV with more HDMI Inputs?
Yes, that is the old setup. Lots of boxes and cables. All gone here.
Feared a answer like that. Seems like I have to stick with the old av receiver until I can feel good removing two of the four hdmi inputs.
