Are you wearing anything?

by Volker Weber

Wearables are all the craze in Barcelona at the MWC 2014. Engadget went so far as to headline 'BlackBerry currently has no plans for a wearable device' as if that was BlackBerry's most pressing problem. But is it anybody's most pressing problem?

Samsung just replaced the Galaxy Gear with three different wearables. Remember, the Galaxy Gear is just five months old. Are you supposed to buy a new wearable twice a year, or will you just wait it out?

I lost my Withings Pulse in the gym after two or three month of tracking.

Guess I won't replace it soon and I won't recommend the actual generation of wearables to anyone but weight-watcher addicts.

I will change the appr. gear as often as it needs to get a balanced quantified self.
Bonus for rectal application. Convenience matters.

This is fashion items, meaning you have two seasons to change every year.

Shall I remember this for you?

As most of my articles roll off the front page rather quickly, I am making an archive of previous posts available here. You can also use the handy search box at the top of the page if you are looking for something particular.
