Kitkat update rolling out on Samsung Galaxy S4

Google annouced Android 4.4 Kitkat and the Nexus 5 at the end of October 2013. It started to ship a week later.4 months later the Samsung S4 (GT-I9505) receives the update.

This is the only reason that keeps me from getting a Samsung, HTC etc. device - updates are unpredictable and slow. Sticking with Nexus.
