Ich mache gerade sehr angenehme Erfahrungen mit Sublime Text 2. Auch sehr angenehm ist Webstorm, ein sehr schnelles Javascript IDE.

Atom ist viel leichter zugänglich als Sublime text, viel einfacher zu konfigurieren und hat einen besseren plugin-manager (schon eingebaut, anders als ST). Und plugins für Atom zu programmieren ist viel einfacher als für ST (alles in JavaScript, was das komplette eco-system rund um node.js, grunt.js zugänglich macht). Atom ist sein ein paar Wochen mein "only" editor.
