Lumia Denim starts rolling out in Europe

1020 O2 is avaiable, 1020 country variant not. It always amazes me how a country variant can be behind an operator version.

Ack, ist mir auch nicht klar.

Looks like they did not even bother to update the firmware of the 1020. So you will eventually get the OS update you could get months ago via the developer preview program?

got the update on my 930 this morning. The phone is from Norway, the version numbers fit. Smooth sailing, no issues here, except that Cortana admits that it does not speak German yet.

With iOS you don't have to worry about variants. The day a new version is released, you can download it on every (supported) device on this planet.
I like Windows Phone. And the update situation is much better than for Android devices. But Apple is still miles ahead.
And the information about the Denim update seems not to be correct. My wife has a german country variant (000-DE) of the Lumia 620. But no update is available.
And i'm very excited when my french country variant (000-FR) of the Lumia 920 will get Denim. For Cyan i had to wait longer, Black was rolled out earlier on the french devices than on the german devices. But the 620 was always served after the 920. This time it seems to be vice versa. Each new update makes new surprises. So it's only consequent that the O2 variant is rolled out before the country variant ;-)

Manfred, YMMD ;)

Ciao,
Hubert
