Everything you ever wanted to know about your Sonos network
by Volker Weber
Open a Desktop Controller and look at "About". Write down the IP address of one of your players. Now open a browser and use this URL, replacing 192.168.58.191 with your IP:

The network matrix is interesting since it shows you the mesh network.

Wo gibt es gescheite CD-Läden?
by Volker Weber
Bin auf der Suche nach gescheiten CD-Läden. Nicht der Mainstream, den Mädchenmarkt und Saturn verramscht, sondern eher sowas wie Shirokko in München.
Finally getting started on last.fm
by Volker Weber

There is so much great social networking stuff out there that I never get to use. Now adding last.fm to the mix. Find me there as vowe. Surprise, surprise. :-)
Showstopper for Lotus Connections
by Volker Weber
Interesting technote:
Question: What procedure should be followed when an employee leaves an organization where IBM Lotus Connections is implemented?...
Answer: Once a person is entered into the Connections system they should never be removed. Doing so may invalidate the data's consistency. ...

Amazing photos - all taken with a mobile phone

Photo Heiko Hebig
Travel notes: Heiko is on vacation and he is shooting photos along the way, uploading them to Flickr. He is not carrying a camera though. Instead he is just using his mobile phone. You would expect crappy pictures, but that is not the case. Two reasons: Heiko "sees" good photos. And he has a Nokia N82. Great camera with a phone attached to it. :-)

Google Gears beta for Safari
by Volker Weber
Safari users get to collaborate offline as well:
Google Gears has been around for Firefox on the Mac for quite a while... This week, a beta for Safari has become available.
With Google Gears, for example, you can view all of your Google Docs offline -- and even edit them! When you connect back to the internet, you will be able to sync the changes back to Google.
To get started, download the Google Gears package for Mac: Firefox or Safari.
How to save half a gig of disk space in a couple of seconds
by Volker Weber
Check out "C:\Documents and Settings\...\Local Settings\Temp\" and remove the 500 MB installer that Lotus Notes 8 leaves behind. How many employees does IBM have? 300,000? 150 Terabyte of wasted storage.
