What are these Google ads doing here?

Google has a program called AdSense. Under this program I let Google display ads on my site. Google tries to display only ads that fit into the content of the page, in an attempt to show you only those ads that you may find interesting.

Google does not pay for those ads. However, if a reader of my site clicks through the ad, Google gives me a kickback of their revenue. Summary:

I understand that some people don't care and are being disturbed by the ads. If you do not want to see any of those ads you only have to block content from pagead2.googlesyndication.com.
