Group Computing: Despite an Opening

Group Computing: Despite an Opening Morning Rush, Lotusphere Registration Continues -
You can still get your Mickey fix. The rush to register on the first day of Lotusphere registration bogged down Lotus's Web server last week, but it didn't spell a sell-out for the popular Lotus technology show in Orlando. Unlike the last two shows, which sold out on the first morning of registration, Lotus expects Lotusphere Orlando 2002 to take time to reach the 10,000 capacity mark. "We expected it would occur over a longer period of time given the economic climate," says Sandra Marcus, director of Lotus worldwide corporate events. Marcus wouldn't divulge how many people have registered for the show so far, except to say that registration is on track to reach the company's goal of an "optimal audience." Registration "will be measured by weeks instead of days," Marcus says.
