Slowly recovering from Morbus Lotuspheris

by Volker Weber

I am slowly recovering from pretty high fever, coughing, soar throat. Like most of the other folks that I know who went to Lotusphere. I'd suggest we call this illness Morbus Lotuspheris.

I thought I was just my imagination, but I remember thinking there was a disproportionate number of people coughing in the sessions this year. In my case, I came to Lotusphere sick, as did other people I know, so perhaps we were the ones who started it all. I certainly hope not! :-)

Good name. Morbus Lotuspheris works for me. I'm feeling it right now. Next year I suggest some of the vendors hand out bottles of Vitamin C as a knickknack.

lots of people sick this week -- maybe I should be glad all I lost was my voice last week.

I suspect the AC in the hotels in Orlando (as in pretty much all other U.S. locations) is the cause of that. Wouldn't be the first longer stay in an AC-environment which got me a stuffed up nose, sore throat, etc.

The AC in the hotels, or more likely, the AC in the air in general early in the week (ie; Welcome Party and beyond).

Hmm, I usually get these symptoms after 6 days CeBit booth- and party duty... probably some kind of related pathogen.

As much as I'd rather everyone else NOT be sick, I guess I'm glad I'm not the only one! Misery loves company.
