It's said to have been a DNS problem.

I had trouble accessing Google (both .com and .co.uk) over the weekend. It's my start page for Firefox (or at least the Firefox branded google page is) and so when it didn't load I figured my connection was blown again. Anyway, very surprised to find that it was just Google that was down - I had to use MSN Search!
