looks like only an ax can help to reach the racks itself...

neues projekt von Christo?

Actually, that looks like the back side of a big electronic switch -- probably a telephony switch. You'll find something that looks a lot like that room in the small brick 'house' used as the local telco switching office for your area, probably within a few miles of your house.

Trainee: "Of course I know where to plug this cable..."

Mmmm... Spaghetti!

Kommt der Leiter des RZ von Barilla?

Welches? Hab' ich doch gesagt: das gelbe Kabel!

Technician: "I don't remember exactly where I plugged in the server, but I used a bright yellow cable so you shouldn't have any trouble finding it..."

Ultimate 80s pop band merger: 'Yello' meets 'Patch-up Boys'

b: anschlüsse finden, kabel raus, neues rein, altes kabel aus dem wust herausschneiden (the teppichmesser is your friend).

Jens, selbst mit dem Teppichmesser: wieviele
Schnitte sie wohl brauchen werden? Ich wette,
sie haben so einiges an Knoten.

Workaround: altes Kabel stueckweise drin
lassen, und ggf. nur die Stecker abschneiden.

Und wenn jemand einen bestimmten Anschluss
sucht: sich einfach bis zum Panel durchschneiden,
und hinterher die paar ausgefallenen Systeme
ersetzen (periodischer Systemtest).

Noch ein Vorteil: nicht benoetigte Anschluesse werden so
mit der Zeit from Panel abgetrennt - entsorgt automatisch
alle Karteileichen (in endlicher Zeit).
