Does no-one ever run things like this by, say, friends and family before going public?
Manchmal gibt es einfach solche Konstellationen. Vorgabe bei mail-adressen innerhalb der Firma: erster Buchstabe des Vornamens Punkt Nachname. Leider hatten wir einen Mitarbeiter der hieß Peter Immel. Der wollte die mail-adresse einfach nicht. ;-)
....und ein früherer Kollege von mir hieß Peter Patzak. Da wir bei einer englischen Company angestellt waren lautete seine Kurzform PP ( in Englisch PeePee ). Er besann sich nach den ersten Kommentaren auf Faxen, Protokollen usw. schnell seines zweiten Vornamens Karl und wurde fortan PKP abgekürzt.
Well, that's the problem with the insider view (to almost anything). Insiders think it's obvious or at least plausible, but outsiders simply don't get (unless being pointed to it like Manfred Dillmann did it for his readers). But the first association with such names, abbreviations and what not still sticks. Too bad :-)
