EasyUbuntu is so easy to use in fact, that even your grandma could be playing encrypted dvds, streaming Windows Media, and sporting the latest Nvidia or Ati drivers in minutes! And yes, EasyUbuntu is GPL.

Nice tool. Would be even nicer if it'd work for kubuntu, too ;)
There's also Automatix, which works on Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Xubuntu.

Ok, scratch the last one—the developer now seems to be working EasyUbuntu! :)
Markus, thanks for the info. However, Automatix has another drawback for me: "(DOES NOT WORK ON Warty, Hoary or Dapper)". I'm running kubuntu on Dapper. Yep, I know, I'm one of these "on the bleedy edge" types :-D
Anyone know if this can help with my USB WLAN adapter?
