My German is fairly weak. I give up. What's the punchline?

Andy Reimer, 2006-10-24 23:18

Andy, it does not translate, there is no punchline, but it mocks business travellers. And it is pretty funny, I must say.

I can't uderstand German but I have to admit I found it funny.

But that's just probably down to me :-)

Axel Koerv, 2006-10-25 13:44

For Andy:

Right guy: Hello.

Left guy: Hello!

R: You're a business buffoon too, right?

L: Yes, of course.

R: Thought so. [pause] Uh, I'm flying to Berlin.

L: What are you doing in Berlin?

R: Up in Berlin there's another business buffoon. He's flying to Munich today so I'm going there in exchange for him. May I ask - where are you going?

L: To Cologne.

R: Ah, Cologne. So there's a business buffoon there coming down here for you? Or how are you doing that?

L: No. I'm flying to Cologne, act really important and fly back again today.

R: Ah, I'm doing that as well, four times a week.

L: Did I tell you I'm flying to Bangkok tomorrow?

R: Ah, Bangkok. Meeting?

L: No, from there I'm flying directly to Frankfurt.

R: Oh, that's great. It's so much more expensive. And you're even more really important that way.

[both laugh]

L: Say, which company do you work for?

R: Good question. I don't really remember. You know what? I will now use my business buffoon cellphone to call my business buffoon secretary and then... [pause] Oh no, this can't be true. No signal.

L: That couldn't happen to me. See? I always have my own transmitter mast with me.

[Rest of dialogue is about a German pun: "to smile" and "to radiate" share the same word in German and they discuss how to reduce the radiation of the transmitter mast.]

Thanks Hanno. I got about 50% of it with my exposure to my parents German, but I didn't get the buffoon reference, which really does makes it quite funny.

the video-clips seems to be gone, the URL now points to "Elternsprechstunde", I can't seem to find the Business-Kasper clip anywhere anymore. What a pitty, loved it.

Achim Lange, 2006-10-27 21:44

It's not gone. Read the instructions: "Die zweite Hälfte"

Kann man den Businesskaspar eigentlich auch irgendwo runterladen ?

Ulf Linnemann, 2006-11-21 20:59

Zu Schade, das Video ist schon weg. Hat jemand eine Sicherheitskopie?

Till Klampaeckel, 2007-01-07 14:46
