Browser stats
by Volker Weber
Firefox users visiting vowe.net have quickly upgraded to the new version. Besides 1.5.0.7 and 2.0 there is however a large zoo of versions which should have been patched to the latest release.
Completely different view for Internet Explorer. 6.0 rules, a select few have upgraded to 7.0. These stats do not show how many of those are unpatched versions.

Microsoft recently started to push out IE 7 using Windows Update, so those numbers should increase in the coming weeks.
Your alt text popups are the wrong way around. :- ) Firefox graph shows "ie" and vice versa.
I guess many of the IE6 users are corporate users who can't just upgrade/patch their browsers at will. When I'm caught seen using IE6, it's usually at a customer's site :-)
My guess is that the Firefox users are typically more technically inclined (i.e. geekier) and tend to lean toward the latest updates.
Volker,
What is the pie chart for Firefox- versus IE-usage (regardless of version). I guess that Firefox-usage on your site is much higher than worldwide, so something like 20% - 40% Firefox?
Sander, it is even higher.
@Frank: When I'm caught seen using IE6, it's usually at a customer's site
No, just buy a Thinkpad or use an old one. You will run your XP/W2K System and the IBM Update software forces you to connect to their service & update site where only IE works.
And there are some more sites, where only IE works. The switch browser engine doesn't always work in the way expected.
And I now that for the misbehavour you have to look for the website owner/developer and it is not the firefox browser which causes the problems.
It would be too easy in our complex world to talk about good and bad software we live in a colourful world and not in the black and white era of the beginning photography.
Wolfgang
I upgraded to Firefox 2.0 right away, but haven't been able to upgrade IE yet, as IE7 has not yet been released for my language.
