I am sorry, if I am again saying that the emperor has no clothes. IBM should be showcasing their technology. What are you getting instead? A Websphere Portal which needs a good ten seconds to go from tab to tab. For some clicks I have waited almost a minute. I know for a fact that you can build portals with subsecond response time.

This system is officially live, even if the conference hasn't started yet. People have received their login credentials and some of them may be planning their next week. But certainly not on this system. This is a disgrace:

Well, shit happens. But I think 81 F, 27 C is pretty amazing ;-)

No fair. Your video shows you getting much better performance than I have been getting.

what kills me is that there's a link that explains why IE7 doesn't work. Okay, thoughtful. Except the link indicates that there is a fix...they just haven't applied it.

I pray that this is NOT the "world-class portal experience" that's slated to ship with Domino 8.

But I'm rather sure that my prayer (in this case) will not be answered....

Craig Wiseman, 2007-01-17 04:00

yes, in fact IBM has to do something; the first 3 days the performace was even worse and none of the sametime-servers behind were working properly. that can become better...

Markus Handke, 2007-01-17 07:48

And that's with most attendees (i.e. those confirmed after Dec 31) not having received their IDs yet... Doesn't bode well for performance during the conference.

Ed (who I am sure is reading), any chance of a formal response from IBM regarding this? Is it going to be fixed by Sunday?

Stuart, can we for once leave Ed out of something Lotus-related. There are plenty of IBM people reading this site, and we should not ask Ed for a "formal response".

Now if you were a Domino developer and you delivered this "solution", what do you think the user reaction would be? Simply put, you wouldn't dare deliver something like this outside of a small beta to patient users. You would think that for the 5,000 or so people attending Lotusphere this could have easily been built with Domino. Volker, you are right to object to this one.

Ed Maloney, 2007-01-17 11:41

Is that Ed's formal response? ;-)

True, I didn't stipulate which Ed... Fair comment, Volker.

You mean there's another Ed involved with Lotus? I had just assumed you were referring to me.

Woa!
