Migrated to Jumbotron

by Volker Weber

imac24

It took about four hours to transfer all programs, files and settings from Raven to Jumbotron, but now I am up and running with a spanking new iMac 24". What a gorgeous computer.

Look Mom, no screws. Okay the only one visible closes the memory slots.

Interesting to know: The glass that covers the screen is held in place via tiny magnets to the rest of the case.

"13 gigs and 128 megs of USB memory, 2 piggy banks and a chunk of chocolate"

and an iMac ?!?

Hmm... - you're doing it again Volker... - think I need to sell my Intel Mini soon...

Anyway - what I am interested in is - are you running 10.5.2 + Graphics Update without any issues? Did you do a "Clean Install" on the iMac and have the assistant transfer your original files and settings?

I am back on square one after I got locked up in a system that was constantly freezing (even during the boot process), reinstalling and getting rid of potentially dangerous kernel extensions. But still I have a mac the freezes repeatedly (and btw. - I did run a hardware check from the Apple Disk that came out ok; HD and permissions have alse been checked ok) -

Ole, the iMac arrived before I did. So, no, not from CeBIT.

Markus, I am running 10.5.2 + Graphics Update on several Macs without lockups.

Gotta love the name! :)

and what happens to Lucy?

Still going strong.

You did not make this photo yourself?
Who ever done this: brilliant shot.

No, I did not. Click the image to get the full version. Find more of those photos at the bottom of this page.

I love mine too. But if you want to feed it a bit more, then attach a second monitor to it and use one of the desktops from Mandolux ;-)

And do update with both the Graphics update and 10.5.2 if you haven't done so yet!
