The rumours are true and “soon” is now. We’re thrilled to introduce video on Flickr. If you’re a pro member, you can now share videos up to 90 glorious seconds in your photostream.

Woohooo, 90 seconds and if it's a movie from the beach there'll be a matte for sure.
Noch ein Videoportal ... darauf hat die Welt gewartet. Und mit ganzen 90 Sekunden wird sich YouTube bestimmt vor Angst in die Hose machen.

Die Videofunktionen sind nicht als Konkurrenz zu YouTube und co gedacht. Flickr nennt die Videos "long fotos". Hier ein Beispiel. Ich finde die fügen sich gut in die Flickr Seiten ein.
Eine Mischung also aus animated gifs und einer simplen Slideshow. Nun ja...
Ich finde die Idee ganz gut, auch das Limit. flickr will damit Plattform sein für alles, was aus einer Digicam rauskommt. Und das sind eben keine Zweistundenfilme. Und wer weiß, vielleicht sind ja 90-Sekunden-Spots der nächste Hype. ;-)
Immer noch besser so konsequent als das alberne 10-Minuten-Limit von Youtube.
